Namaste Vodafone

The Hutch is now Vodafone campaign was successfully launched last night, with the ad being aired at the best possible time. Yes I am talking about the exciting match between India and South Africa. The company used the match to it’s advantage and the ads were rolled out. Thus we would like to welcome the Red and White Giant to India and wish it luck.

As for the ad, Vodafone has managed to have continuity in the campaign by having the Hutch dog and the animated couple in its ads. This helps customers relate to Hutch and the transition in the ad does the rest. The transition of the brand is depicted in the best manner by showing the Hutch dog, moving out of his old Pink kennel and moving to his new Red Kennel, followed by text which reads “Change is Good”.

The ad campaign has managed to capture attention and thus convey the message across to the masses. The ad is being aired extensively to bring better effectiveness and awareness. And yea, so from now on all the Hutch news will be posted in a new category known as Vodafone.

Watch one more ad after the break.

battery

Just happened to browse through the mobile accessories being provided by Tata Indicom, and I came across this one of a kind battery, which happens to double up as a modem and can be connected to your laptop and computer and voila you’ve got internet on your desk/laptop.  I know you cant believe me. But it’s true  man. This is it. It’s is the thing we have been waiting for.

Orange tha, Hutch hai aur Vodafone rahega…soon

Hutch 2 Vodafone

Ya that’s true. Hutch is heading for a change of name (AGAIN) thanks to the deal between Vodafone and Hutchison Whampoa. Vodafone, which now has about 67% in the company now wants to rename Hutch to a worldwide known name Vodafone. This also shows the thoroughly enjoyed majority of Vodafone. Vodafone’s worldwide CEO, Arun Sarin will be coming down to India to have the new name launched.

People still remember the logo of Orange, which was used by the company, which was then changed to the existing Pink Hutch logo. That too is short lived as the name comes with a change in the logo too. The Hutch logo would be replaced by the international logo used by Vodafone.

The launch is scheduled for this week and we really don’t know what would the response of the existing users. Would they accept the new avatar or switch over. That totally depends on the positioning of the new brand. Do tell us what’s your say in this matter.

Blacklist your calls from Hutch

Blacklisted Diary

Ever wanted that killer Blacklist software for your phone which kept pesky callers away from your reach? Well, if you’re still longing to have one that in your phone, Hutch can come to your rescue. For a monthly rental of Rs. 99, a user can create his own blacklist and own his privacy back! You can also add a whitelist which will only allow the whitelisted numbers to reach you while barring rest of the calls.

The barred number would hear “The Hutch subscriber you have called does not wish to receive your call right now, please try again later.” So while calling your friend if you hear this message, you know it. He doesn’t like you anymore.

Heavy duty plans from Airtel

Airtel Logo

I am not lying! The plans which I am going to unveil in a short while are literally heavy duty. In terms of price and talktime. The first plan known as the Airtel Community Plan has a monthly rental of Rs. 995. CLIP charges are waived off and you get 4000 minutes of Airtel-to-Airtel local calls free. Other than that there is an extra 1000 minutes free to A2A STD calls. All the calls and SMS are charged at Re. 1.

The good news is that both new users and existing users can enroll under this plan. But we wouldn’t recommend such an expensive plan if your most of the calls are not on Airtel numbers.

BPL Mobile tracks your Phone with Mobile Tracker

BPL Mobile’s Mobile Tracker

BPL Mobile has announced a new service which no other operator has barged upon. Called as Mobile Tracker, it is a nifty application which discreetly sits in the phone monitoring if there is any change of SIM card. If it finds that the SIM card has been changed, it sends a message through the phone’s kernel to pre set two alternate numbers which has to be inserted during the initial installation of the app. Another smart feature is that it automatically sends periodical updates every 60 minutes to the numbers informing the real owner about the whereabouts of the phone.
