BPL Mobile Corporate 199 Plan

This post brings to you one of BPL’s Corporate Plan. This one is quite good and here are the details of the same:

  • Monthly Rental: Rs.199
  • Local Calling to BPL: 30paise
  • Local calling to other networks: 75paise
  • 200 minutes of Free Local BPL2BPL calling
  • Local SMS: 30paise
  • 100 Free Local SMS

We say: This plan is quite good as it gives both free calling and free SMS. Taking the shine away is the local calling rate to other numbers. If calling to BPL numbers is more, then this one is made for you.

Week Round Up

Monday: Tata Indicom reveals its Platinum Postpaid Plan and we decided to peek inside this full value offer.

Tuesday: MTNL is definitely considering their customer’s criticism. Apart from offering basic cellular services, they are rolling out new services just like the recent MTNL Live which is a Live Photo Sharing Service.

Thursday: Virgin Mobile’s another vPower recharge enables a user to call other Virgin Mobile users at 10 paise/min.

Friday: The fire in one of the buildings in Mumbai halted Airtel services in many parts of the city. According to Airtel 90% of the services has been restored but many readers are still complaining about the disconnection.

Official statement released by Airtel said “To alleviate our customers’ issues, we have also proactively rerouted calls to ensure continued service. Also, majority of the impacted customers were not charged for the calls made.”

Mumbai Airtel users facing network problems

Our readers from Mumbai are reporting about some network problem with Airtel. Since morning some of the readers are facing “Emergency Calls” only. The apparent reason for this network failure seemed due to the fire in a building in South Mumbai. South Mumbai users are the worst affected but according to the officials, the problem will be resolved soon.

Local calls at 10 paise/minute from Virgin Mobile

Virgin Mobile introduced another vPower recharge voucher that allows Virgin Mobile to Virgin Mobile calling at 10 paise per minute. This voucher is priced at Rs 28 and comes with a validity of 30 days.

One of the most amazing thing about this voucher is that, wherein one Virgin Mobile user is spending 10 paise per minute to make the call, another Virgin Mobile user is earning 10 paise per minute to receive the call, which means that calling is virtually free but of course you will have to shell out Rs 28 every month to make this whole thing work.

MTNL with MobShare.in bring MTNL LIVE

MTNL always used to carry this ‘government-owned operator’ image with itself thanks to the limited services that were available to its users. But now, the operator is trying to do away with that image by launching with new services. This week it’s MTNL Live, a live Photo Sharing Service. Here are some of your queries answered:

Platinum Plan 350 from Tata Indicom

Tata Indicom Logo

Platinum Plan 350 is a new full value postpaid plan from Tata Indicom. For a monthly rental of Rs 350, it provides Rs. 350 worth of free talktime for making calls to any local or STD numbers.

Once, the user has reached the threshold limit of free calling, every additional local call will be charged at 50p/min and STD calls at Re 1/min. One thing that the plan lacks is that it does not provide any free SMS’s, but considering Tata Indicom’s cheap SMS rates, that wouldn’t be an issue here.

Week Round Up

Monday: Last week marked the sixth death anniversary of Mr. Dhirubhai Ambani and we at Tele Gyaan decided to pay him a small tribute.

Tuesday: Check out the cheapo vBling from Virgin Mobile. A flap phone for tight pockets. The latest update in the 3G spectrum scene is that DoT denied the allocation for CDMA operators. We know that these operators won’t gulp this pretty easily.

Wednesday: As one of our commenter points out “i hav been hearing since last yr
god knws when idea really hitz in mumbai circle”. And we thought the same initially but now they are raring to go. August is the month of the expected launch.

Thursday: Reliance is offering Jaadu Pack for Rs. 35. Check out the details here.

Friday: MTNL’s lifetime prepaid Jeevan Saathi has got cheaper. Now available for Rs. 149.

New MTNL Trump Jeevan Saathi

Earlier, we had brought to you MTNL Jeevan Saathi - 299. And today this plan from MTNL has been revamped and now comes at a discounted price. The plan details have been provided below:

  • Lifetime Validity
  • Activation Charges: Rs.149
  • Free Talktime: Rs.11
  • All Local calls: 90paise
  • Calls to MTNL Delhi: 90paise
  • STD Calls: Rs.1.3
  • Local SMS: 50paise
  • National SMS: Rs.1.5
  • International SMS: Rs.4

We say: The plan looks a lot better than the original one, because of the lowered activation charges and cheaper call rates. If considered individually, this plan still stands a good chance to succeed in getting some users. Another highlighting factor is the calls to Delhi being made local. This would prove to be a strength for the plan.

Reliance Jaadu Pack 35

Reliance has launched the Jaadu Pack to make STD calling cheaper for you. This plan allows users to make STD and local calls at a fixed rate of Re.1. The other details of the plan are:

  • Charge: Rs.35
  • Benefit duration: 30days
  • Local and STD calls: Re.1
  • Incoming on Roaming: Re.1
  • Outgoing on Roaming: Rs.1.5

We say: The Pack is quite cool as it offers STD at a cheaper rate. The next good thing about it is that it brings roaming call charges at a level that’s being followed by the market, which is quite fair.

Idea all set to enter Mumbai circle

Idea, a part of the Aditya Birla Group is all set to launch its services in the most buzzing market of India i.e. Mumbai. The circle, which is highly competitive and also has the highest revenue per user, isn’t an easy playground for telecom operators. The battle to get the maximum out of the users is being fought here and it is surely a rough road ahead for Idea, who is a late entrant into this circle.

Here’s wishing the operator “Best of Luck” from our side. We truly feel that such added competition gives birth to easy price wars, thus benefiting the consumers. Go ahead and give others a run for their money.
