After giving some relief to the prepaid users with its Independence Day offer, Airtel turn themselves in to satisfy postpaid users. And this time it’s not plagiarised. The Super Value 499 plan is aimed at customers who have high local usage. The plan’s monthly rent is Rs. 499 in which the user gets a monthly free limit of 1000 local minutes to any mobile. And if these 1000 minutes still seem insufficient then the local calls to Airtel number will cost 30 paise/minute or 40 paise to any other mobile and Re. 1 to a local landline number.
The STD calls are charged at a flat rate of Re. 1. For avid messagers, Airtel is giving 200 local messages free and will charge 50 paise after the stipulated limit. National SMS will cost Re. 1.
The plan will tremendously benefit a customer whose bill hovers around in this range. CLIP charges have also been waived off. The scheme has been launched in Karnataka so we reckon it is limited to that region only. However, you may try your luck contacting the Airtel Customer Care (and of course let us know!).
New users need to pay a one-time deposit of Rs. 500 and an activation charge of Rs. 199. Existing users can plunge into the free galore by sending a SMS to 222 with the text RP_SV499.
I call this a real Independence.

I am really wondering why airtel doesn’t have unlimited STD Calling plan like reliance and TATA indicom. just becuase of they are CDMA service provider it doesn’t mean airtel can’t come out with it. Hope airtel soon come with this kind of plan
