Orange tha, Hutch hai aur Vodafone rahega…soon

September 19, 2007 By Rohan Kamath 3 Comments

Hutch 2 Vodafone

Ya that’s true. Hutch is heading for a change of name (AGAIN) thanks to the deal between Vodafone and Hutchison Whampoa. Vodafone, which now has about 67% in the company now wants to rename Hutch to a worldwide known name Vodafone. This also shows the thoroughly enjoyed majority of Vodafone. Vodafone’s worldwide CEO, Arun Sarin will be coming down to India to have the new name launched.

People still remember the logo of Orange, which was used by the company, which was then changed to the existing Pink Hutch logo. That too is short lived as the name comes with a change in the logo too. The Hutch logo would be replaced by the international logo used by Vodafone.

The launch is scheduled for this week and we really don’t know what would the response of the existing users. Would they accept the new avatar or switch over. That totally depends on the positioning of the new brand. Do tell us what’s your say in this matter.
