MTNL is truly trying to compete with the biggies in terms of service offerings. With the caller tunes being rolled out some time back, now the public operator is set to offer TV to its prepaid and postpaid users. Initially it plans to provide 5 channels to users, mainly sports and entertainment channels. The service can be availed by GPRS enabled phone users by just downloading a software.
Good thing about the service is that the telecast would not download stuff from the internet and thus you won’t have to worry about the charges. Also MTNL would be launching other channels in the coming months. As for the charges to activate and use the service, we have no clue about that. No matter which phone you are using, if it has GPRS, this one would be available to you. Yaa that’s what the Press Release says. Great isn’t??

1.Free Insurance Cover of Rs.50,000 to all Postpaid Subscriber(Dolphin/Landline/Garuda-WLL).
2.One Free Pripaid Trump GSM Connection to all Existing MTNL Subscriber(Dolphin/Trump/Garuda/Landline) with Talk Time of Rs.53 and 10 Days Validity.
From this Free Pripaid Card,The maximum Local call rate is Just 90 paisa to any Mobile/Landline(local phone).Any Existing Subscrber can take this FREE Trump Sim Card from all 52 CSC of MTNL MUMBAI.
3.To improve its GSM service,the telecom major is adding 7,50,000 switching capacity for Dolphin/Trump mobile network by March-2008, and Adding all new 300 base transmission stations(BTS) for radio network or Better coverage across the Mumbai.
4.Currently MTNL is adding 1,000 new Mobile subscriber per day.
