TeleGyaan brought to you how operators had climbed on the Music bandwagon with 24×7 music stations. Yes we are talking about BPL’s JukeBox and Airtel’s Live Music on Demand. The new entrant to the party is Vodafone. The operator is flashing the ‘Music Station’ banner on its site.
How is it different: The lines on which the service is the same i.e. users would have to subscribe to the service first. This can be done by just an SMS:
- Prepaid customers SMS ACT MS to 144 (toll free)
-
Postpaid customers SMS ACT MS to 111 (toll free)
The service costs you Rs.50 for a month and the calls are charged at 30paise. These calls are the ones which are made to browse and listen to the music. There are 28 categories available to users, which are the so called channels (just to give it a better feel or to confuse users to spend more time in browsing). This one, unlike the rest offers 4 times the music. Yes the current 10,000 songs the other operators talk about is passé. Vodafone has 40,000 songs in its playlist in 10 different languages.
We Still say: It’s not worth putting in Rs.50 and then call to listen to songs. Still it is just another avenue for operators to earn quick bucks. Go on begin your journey to the Music Station.
