North East, Assam and Jammu & Kashmir will get another mobile operator in their telecom circles in the form of Tata Indicom. The government has allocated additional CDMA spectrum to Tata Teleservices for these three circles.

These three circles are presently being ruled by operators like Reliance, BSNL, Airtel and Aircel having a combined subscriber base of about 7 million mobile users. Now-a-days metros and urban cities are getting saturated that is why operators like Tata Indicom are moving towards C circle states to keep up the pace of their growth.

For Tata Teleservices, this additional spectrum will enable it to expand its presence in all the 22 Circles across the country making it a pan India operator. At present, Bharti Airtel and Reliance are the only operators with a pan India presence. Tata Teleservices will be in a position to launch services in the three Circles by the end of this year.
