July 23, 2008 By yogen Leave a Comment

Few days back, Airtel subscribers in Mumbai faced a lot of network related issues since fire broke out at the company’s Lower Parel office damaging some of its technology infrastructure. So, what prevention is Bharti Airtel taking up to avoid such mishap in the future?

Well, the company claims a lot of things. So we thought of briefing you’ll on some of the major steps that it plans to implement:

  • Firstly, Airtel claims to be spending a considerable amount of money in re-starting operations at the Lower Parel building mainly because this place houses the BlackBerry server, data services and Home Location Register (HLR).
  • Secondly, it plans increasing traffic carrying capacity in the Mumbai circle by 10%
  • Airtel currently has 450 km of fibre optic network in Mumbai, which it plans increasing to 500 km for enhanced traffic carrying capacity and in-building solutions (IBS) to improve connectivity and quality of services in the city.

Hope the company keeps its promises because the subscribers are only concerned about consistent and quality service, if not from this operator then from some other.
