State-run BSNL has short listed Chinese brand Haier Mobile for offering CDMA handsets along with its connection in a combo bundled scheme. BSNL will be launching various CDMA bundled schemes (i.e. handset + connection) by the end of this year, of which majority of the handsets will be provided by Haier Mobile.
BSNL selected Haier Mobile on the basis of bids that they had invited from various handsets firm for launching the bundled scheme. For its CDMA network, BSNL plans setting up 10,000 wireless towers within a year. BSNL already provides fixed wireless and limited CDMA mobility service under the brand ‘Tarang’ in some of the existing circles.
