Feature: Unlimited calling cards from Reliance

June 17, 2008 By Rohan Kamath 1 Comment

Reliance has always been boasting about free calling to other Reliance numbers. Let’s have a look at the various options one has. The first two are zero talktime plans with validity of a month. The remaining one’s have multiple validity options and have talktime availability.

Rs.195 Plan – Local R2R unlimited calling
No talktime
30 days validity
All other calls @ 99paise and STD @ Rs.2.65

Rs.496 Plan – R2R national free calling
No talktime
30 days validity
All other calls @ 99paise and STD @ Rs.2.65

Rs.399 Plan – Local R2R unlimited calling
Talktime of Rs.175
30 days validity
Local calling @ 49paise and STD @ Rs.2.65

Rs.1099 Plan – Local R2R unlimited calling
Talktime of Rs.475
90 days validity
Local calling @ 49paise and STD @ Rs.2.65

Rs.3990 Plan – Local R2R unlimited calling
Talktime of Rs.1750
365 days validity
Local calling @ 49paise and STD @ Rs.2.65

We Say: The plans are great if R2R calls are what you want to make. The 49paise plans are great value for money and thus get a thumbs up from our side. But the STD rates are a definite turnoff. The best one though is the last one if R2R is what you want.

Reliance came up with this Rs.496 Plan – R2R national free calling to lure customers into the Reliance-CDMA trap and within six months of offer launch, closed the offer after luring the customers!!! All mobile operators are required to keep a plan alive for atleast for 6 months according to TRAI regulations. Its sad that Relianc Telecom (RCOM) is resorting to such cheap tricks. They might have made some quick money by this offer…but by closing it suddenly they have lost the credibility and faith among its customers which will impact them in the long term. The Web Worlds operated by them are staffed by rude people..but they can’t be blamed entirely…the company itself is highly unprofessional!!!
