Vodafone’s community members are already disgruntled about the current service but now here comes a first hand experience from our reader, Mr. Anish. He has sent an e-mail to Vodafone as well as TeleGyaan to make us aware of the his plight. Read it after the break.

I am currently under Corporate Spl-Talk 199 plan. I was not happy with the plan and hence visited the Vodafone Gallery, Malad West, to change my talk plan. I insisted that I would like to switch back to Prepaid or have the Corporate FV199 plan. The customer exec (Mohit) said that he will need to take permission from higher authorities for this plan and asked me to visit 2 days later, on my second visit (19th Nov) I was offered the Corp FV199 plan. The new Talk Plan was to be activated from the next billing cycle (6th Dec) as said by a customer exec. named Mohit. The service request number for the same is 328640718. Infact I also received an SMS from Vodafone that I my service request would be looked in to before 28th Nov.

I waited, but did not receive any reply from Vodafone. My billing cycle, which is 6th of every month also passed by but there was no change in the talk plan. Calling up 111, the customer executive said that you need to put a mail requesting the same to corporate assist. I sent a mail on this Wednesday, and received an Auto-Reply from Vodafone that the request would be considered within 2 working days. As usual, the lame customer service of Vodafone came in picture and even after 3 working days there were no signs of anyone from Vodafone calling me up.

Eventually fed up of the service and to take a last chance, I called up 111 this morning and spoke to a customer exec named Daniel. This guy takes all the necessary information from me and puts me on hold for more than 20 minutes and then simply disconnects the line. Calling up again I speak with a customer exec named Shabana, explaining my Vodafone woes from start. She calmly says that the request has been considered today and you will hear from us within 3 working days. The new request number that I received (just now) is 349384344.

It’s been almost a month now that Vodafone is making me run from pillar to post. Such a lethargic service and lame excuses was never expected by a company that holds a repute internationally.

Fed up of the service, I have decided to switch back to Prepaid. This at least will reduce my interaction and queries with your customer support who just escalate issues further. Actually, this mail also does not guarantee any response from Vodafone, but just thought to give it a try to check whether people at higher levels respond to customer experiences or the contact details are provided just for the name sake on the website.

P.S: Hoping that mobile number portability comes in early next year so that can make a switch from Vodafone.

UPDATE: Vodafone did listen! Mr. Anish messaged back to let us know that his plan is now activated.
