Vodafone – wherever you go we follow.

May 26, 2008 By Rohan Kamath 9 Comments

It all started off with Airtel announcing the plans to reduce roaming rates to Rs.1.50. A week later or so, we see Vodafone’s ads showing that they too have reduced their rates to the same amount. Then we get to know that MTNL plans to reduce its STD rates to Rs.1.30 and this morning Vodafone sends its customers an SMS informing them about the new STD rates being reduced to the same as MTNL’s.

We conclude that how much ever Vodafone tries to rub off Hutch from the minds of the users, it won’t be able to. “Wherever you (competitors) go, our moves follow” is what Vodafone is trying to follow.

Blacklisted Diary

Ever wanted that killer Blacklist software for your phone which kept pesky callers away from your reach? Well, if you’re still longing to have one that in your phone, Hutch can come to your rescue. For a monthly rental of Rs. 99, a user can create his own blacklist and own his privacy back! You can also add a whitelist which will only allow the whitelisted numbers to reach you while barring rest of the calls.

The barred number would hear “The Hutch subscriber you have called does not wish to receive your call right now, please try again later.” So while calling your friend if you hear this message, you know it. He doesn’t like you anymore.

To activate this feature Call 55144 or Dial *514#.

Hutch Gallery - Andheri

Round two of the Gallery Review analyzes, what we think is the most crowded and the most visited Gallery in the suburbs. This is the Hutch Gallery at Andheri (W), near Irla SV Road. The gallery caters to customers of Andheri and Vile Parle. And that’s the reason for the chaos at this place.

100 minutes talk time at cheap price from Hutch

September 8, 2007 By yogen Leave a Comment

There is an excellent recharge scheme for hutch prepaid users. But before you get excited let me tell you’ll that this scheme is only for making hutch-to-hutch calls. Hutch users can recharge their number with a bonus recharge of Rs. 22 and get 100 minutes of talk time. This added talk time can only be used to make calls to another hutch user. There’s one more condition to this scheme, that these 100 minutes can be used only between 11pm and 8am.

Despite of these conditions , we still suggest this scheme as it won’t even make a scratch in your wallet. These benefits are offered for just Rs. 22 or Rs. 22 paise/min and the user can use these 100 minutes for the whole month. So go ahead and get this bonus recharge as you know too that some how or the other you will utilize those minutes.

Inter Group calling free from Hutch

September 6, 2007 By Kunal Gangar Leave a Comment

If you have a group to whom you talk a lot and also own a Hutch postpaid number, then I must say that you have got lucky. Now Hutch postpaid users can form groups of 2 to 5 members and enjoy free inter group calling. Apart from free calling within the group, all local Hutch calls will be charged at 50ps/min while Rs.1.69/min on rest of the networks. The SMS charges are still a mystery but I presume it would be charged at normal rates.

The first two members of the group are charged Rs. 149/month as rental whereas the remaining members have to pay just Rs. 100/month to avail free inter calling. What else? Well, if you think that they are asking too much for it then you can always get back your Rs. 500 deposit which is required to start this service.

To activate, send a text message ‘GROUP’ (without the quotes) to 111.

How telecom service providers push for postpaid connections?

August 25, 2007 By Kunal Gangar 7 Comments

I happened to visit a local Hutch Gallery Shop to convert my postpaid connection to a prepaid one. The scheme which I was currently on was a good one, but one of the major reasons for changing into prepaid was that it was difficult for me to keep a tab on my callings and I ultimately ended up paying more. As I waited for my turn to come, one of the executives approached me and asked that “Why do I want to convert it to prepaid?” Determined to go prepaid I explained him my plight. He listened to me attentively and replied back that if he could show me another scheme?

Reluctantly, I obliged and here I am, still going on with my postpaid connection. The scheme given to me was from a Corporate Plan (only companies are given these plans).

Check out the tariffs after the break:
