Easy Earning on Virgin Mobile

Virgin Mobile is trying to motivate its users to Think Hatke and earn some money. The smartest one we came across was simple and easy. Tata to Tata Unlimited calling plan also called by the name of Freedom Plan gives users the freedom to talk unlimited on the Tata network, which also includes Virgin. Thus, one can just activate this plan on the Tata phone and call the Virgin Mobile.

It is found that the call ends once it crosses an hour, and thus you would have to call again to restart the call or money earning process. An alarm can be of great use and keep the 10paise flowing in. But the whole process would lead to income of Rs.6 per hour. Here is some quick calculation.

  • Assuming 5hours of such activity daily
  • Income earned per day: Rs.30
  • Income per month: Rs.900

Conclusion: Rs.900 per month is enough to talk to everyone considering the low call rates Virgin provides. Thus you can keep the cycle on and thus just pay for validity. How’s that for a cool idea?

The story continues: BlackBerry security issues

There’s a cat and mouse game going on between Research in Motion (RIM) and the Indian government. In a recent turnout after seeing the reactions of the public, RIM has withdrawn their statement that they’ll be sharing the encryption key with the government.

The latest news is that they are not going to share it and the reason cited by them is that they don’t have any access to encryption keys used by the customers. It is clear that RIM is trying save their face and is in a soup on which side to support for - customers or the government.

RIM will be meeting the officials today and let’s see what happens. We’ll keep you updated on this.

[Thank Tarun]

MTNL is now “Mumbai ka khaas mobile”

MTNL has made an attempt to revamp the look and the message of its ads in Mumbai. The ads, which previously used to contain an image with simple and straight details of the plans, have now taken a new look to themselves. The new ads would be trying to strike a chord among Mumbai residents by calling MTNL as Mumbai ka khaas mobile, which in simple words is Mumbai’s special mobile.

The ads are trying to promote Trump connections as a must have by any Mumbai resident. For example one ad has the following line: Having a mobile in Mumbai is a normal thing, but having Mumbai’s mobile is a special thing.

‘Thank God its Weekend Recharge’ from Virgin Mobile

Virgin Mobile added another recharge to its vPower section and this one is called THANK GOD ITS WEEKEND RECHARGE or the TGIW pack.

This special recharge priced at Rs. 18 offers local calls to all mobile at 30 paise/min and 100 free SMS’s. The drawback for this pack is that it offers only 3 days validity which means that you have to utilize those 100 SMS’s in a span of 3 days.

We Say: Good recharge pack as the SMS cost would be as low as 18 paise per SMS, but would have been great if the validity it offered was a little more.

Vodafone - wherever you go we follow.

It all started off with Airtel announcing the plans to reduce roaming rates to Rs.1.50. A week later or so, we see Vodafone’s ads showing that they too have reduced their rates to the same amount. Then we get to know that MTNL plans to reduce its STD rates to Rs.1.30 and this morning Vodafone sends its customers an SMS informing them about the new STD rates being reduced to the same as MTNL’s.

We conclude that how much ever Vodafone tries to rub off Hutch from the minds of the users, it won’t be able to. “Wherever you (competitors) go, our moves follow” is what Vodafone is trying to follow.

    MTNL says all is fine

A couple of days back we posted about MTNL’s site giving out customer details to public due to some bugs. We, being responsible people, brought it to the notice of the necessary parties. In response to this we got a reply from the officials that all the things are in place and control.

We are looking in to the matter. I would like to inform you that the MTNL website and other applications are secured as we take best security measures. However, you may be questing the free sim booking application which is hosted on a test server. We are implementing possible security for the same.
Thanks again for your prompt info on the subject.

We in turn would like to thank our readers for bringing it to our notice.
